Church Bells

On Monday, November 14th workers from Verdin Bell Company in Cincinnati, Ohio along with Baker Construction completed the important job of hanging the bells in the new church bell towers.  The first bell, which was hand crafted in Russia in 2014, is decorated with icons of Christ and St. George and weighs over 750 lbs. The second bell, which is imprinted with an orthodox cross and is dedicated to Jason of the Seventy, weighs over 1200 lbs.

Crews used a lull truck to raise the bells up and in to the bell towers where they were hung and connected to the electronic bell ringer system.  The bells will ring when a striker inside the bell is activated.  The bells were tested on Monday and you can hear them ringing for the very first time in the video on the Building Project page.

In the future the bells will ring at noon and 6 o'clock pm, as well as at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings as Divine Liturgy begins.
