The Church School program at St. George Orthodox Church is offered, by the grace of God, to provide our children with understanding, support and love of the Faith. Children spend time in prayer, in service, and in fellowship with one another, their teachers and the parish family. Christ, our Lord, said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14). It is our sincere hope and prayer that our Church School programs provide support to our children as they "Come to Him".
For more information about enrolling your child in the St. George Church School program please contact the Church School Director, Shannon Antypas by call/text at 724-312-3534 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Children and SOYO were active this Nativity Season. The Teens/SOYO ran a winter wear collection for the Light in My City, an organization that outreaches to the homeless community of Pittsburgh, providing them with Light, Dignity, and Safety. They also sponsored the Parish's Church School Nativity Luncheon, with all proceeds going to the same organization.
Our elementary aged children narrated and starred in our annual Nativity Pageant and also spent an afternoon singing Christmas Carol and distributing cards to residents of a local nursing facility.
The Lord has indeed blessed us with our children. Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
