His Grace Bishop THOMAS
Dear Faithful in Christ,
It is with great joy in the Holy Spirit to announce to you that we will be celebrating the first Divine Liturgy in our new Temple on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23rd at 10:30 a.m, and the first Sunday Liturgy on November 26, which will be a Hierarchical Liturgy with His Grace, Bishop THOMAS. The matins service will begin at 9:30 a.m; the Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m.
In preparation for these upcoming and future liturgical services, please note the following procedures:
◦ Parishioners can drive up to the main door of the Temple and let your passengers off at the main entrance and proceed to our parking lot
◦ As customary, with reverence enter the Temple through the main front door. As you pass through the outer narthex (the first smaller entrance space) into the narthex proper, you are invited to offer prayers to God, venerate the icons and light a candle
◦ You may then enter the doors to the Temple proper
A very important directive: Please do not enter the Temple through the hall way connecting the social hall and the Temple, ("The Way of the Saints,") during the celebration of the Divine Services. In conversation with our Choir Director Rick Daller and others, we feel very strongly that entering the Temple through those doors will create a great distraction to all who are in prayer. You will note that, when entering the Temple from that direction, immediately to the right is where the choir is singing as well as the chanter's chanting on the left side directly on the solea (raised portion of the sanctuary.) Please follow this directive beginning from our first services and on.
I pray that you will enjoy a blessed Thanksgiving!
In Christ,
Fr. Jason
